Nice hotels basic kitchen menu very close to Oxford street and metro. A slightly bigger rooms site near the main hotel if you want bigger rooms. Food is basic with limited choice but have prezzo patte noster nearby opposite shops. Ubers also available and hotel have their own chauffeur services and concierges. Good place to stay if you are shopper new to London and love to explore the area.

I recently took my family to London. It was a long journey in train from West Yorkshire. I had booked 2 family rooms in Cumberland Hotel. It was an amazing stay from start to end. Upon arrival a very helpful, pleasant and bubbly receptionist welcome Us. Her name was Aneta. She was very nice and professional and knew exactly what she was doing. She got us two family rooms which I wanted to get. She apologised for these rooms not to be on the same floors which I wasn't really bothered about. 
The room I have got was absolutely amazing. Beautiful decor, nice space,cleaned up to a very high standard and on top of that a great View of Park Lane. The second room was exceptional too. 
In the morning breakfast was on a different level with so much choice. I stayed for two nights and it felt like home. On the day I was leaving i needed late check out as Mrs and kids were returning late from Harry porter trip. The shining star Aneta was there to help. I have to say staff like Aneta are an asset to any organisation. 
I will highly recommend Cumberland Hotel. A huge thanks for making our stay one of our most memorable trip.

Great Hotel

Not sure if it was bad timing or under staffed reception. But the queue to check-in was  ridicoulus long. I got room 7073 but not clear on the signs where to go (see picture for yourself) compared to other hotels in London at this price range I would say that this is one of the best. Huge variety and chef making omelet.

Good area and great breakfast

Good clean room, excellent breakfast and friendly staff made it an enjoyable stay. A member of staff even leant his own cuff links when I realised I had left mine at home and had no time to buy some before the Institute dinner. 

Trip to London 

This hotel is the worst. From the reception, the service, the audience, the breakfast, the rooms. It's dirty, the rooms are small and you will be treated worst. I came here because our partner is booked, but I couldn't beleave, that this should be a 4 **** star hotel. I wouldn't give 1. if you can find another hotel, do it. The worst hotel I've ever checked in. Our partner in London chose it. Unfortunately. It's dirty, the food is bad, the audience is a disaster and the staff unfortunately is not service oriented. So if you have the opportunity to book another room, do it. Wouldn't have deserved one!

The hotel is under much needed refurbishment. The hotel is not busy. It centrally lookated at the marbled arch.

Elevator is slow and noice.  Room are decent. Bathroom are small and have only tub. 

Beds are way soft and pillow is feeling well used...not a pillow menu or selections of pillows

TV is ok.

But why are the noice minibar placed in the middle of the room...it's empty and has a glas door with a blue light inside....meaning that the room will not be dark....

Under refurbishment

From check in taking 20 minutes 
Room adequate but not worth the money

But you would expect better in this place 
Bar was soulless with over priced drinks 
This was a business trip 
Wouldn’t spend my money staying here 

Can do better 

We stopped here for a drink prior to a theatre visit. The lobby has all the charm / atmosphere of an aircraft hanger - can't imagine what the rooms are like.

Anyway, we had a drink in the virtually empty basement bar / restaurant : £23.63 for a large G&T and a bottle of lager !

PS The charge included a service charge, yet the bill has space to add a gratuity - sharp practice !!!

Over-priced drink in soulless location.

Nice hotel and great location. Friendly staff and great breakfast. Have been here before, but this time we got cigarett smoke in our, non smoking room,  from the people standing at the entrance smoking! Not nice at all. 
The maid did make the beds and changed the towels, but did not vacuum the floor.
All this makes us reluctant to go back again.

I’ve reviewed this hotel on a number of occasions. It’s been mixed but generally good. 

I have been staying here since the early 2000s and have seen it change over the course of the number of years.

This stay was ok. The suite we stayed in was spacious and clean. Can’t complain about the room apart from the view. Not great but can’t be helped. The beds are comfortable. The shower was hot and powerful but the shower cubicle seems to be getting a bit mouldy around the edges and needs refurbing. 

Check in was awful. We were waiting in line for approx 30minutes before we reached the desk. It was awful. 

The lobby has a strange smell. Gone are the days of the amazing Cumberland smell I once loved. The lobby area is also undergoing some renovation works which I wasn’t aware of, consequently we couldn’t access the executive Lounge. A lounge was available downstairs but it was pretty poor to be honest. 

The staff are generally nice and attentive. I’ve mentioned this before about the security when heading to the lifts. They are rude and inconsistent. They could do with smiling a bit. Don’t understand the purpose of putting your key card in the reader where the security is stood and then doing it again round the corner to access the lifts? 

Guys please don’t let the standards the slip. You were an amazing hotel..... get it back.
