I was here for business a few years ago and I was very impressed with the historic room. We happened to get the same room this time. The location is also ideal: very close to Sanssouci and also the city centre can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. It's a shame that during this Corona period there were obviously too few guests and no one wanted to have breakfast. So we didn't do it either - in my memory it was very good. Overall, to recommend because of the location and the price-performance ratio.

Historically established

Very nice, very nice, very large rooms, bathrooms too, only TV was poor, only public broadcasts, but you rarely watch TV on holidays, breakfast was really great, there was also a lot of fresh food, the staff was very friendly, and the dog was great too.

Nice boarding house at the top price with 1A breakfast

Our room was very spacious, yet quite simple. The bathroom was very large as well with very little in it. 

The breakfast buffet was amazing. There was a very large variety of fresh fruit and all kinds of sausages and fish. You could order bacon and eggs separately. Fantastic. 

The price was quite low for a place like Potsdam. Parking is a problem, but you could use the parking of the hotel although they didn’t offer it to us.

I spent a total of 2 nights with my friend in the Potsdam boarding house in the middle of 2017. We were greeted by a lady who seemed hectic and agitated at the time of our arrival. We had probably arrived at an inappropriate time (this impression improved only slightly) We decided on this boarding house because of the beautiful old-style rooms. Unfortunately, we got a room in the basement that was furnished with simple normal furnishings. Of course, we were already booked at the end of 2016. We had booked a parking space because of course we have to stand. In the booking confirmation, we should have booked a lot more than 8€/day.

At least location & breakfast are good!

From the outside, the house looks unobtrusive, but from the inside, it looks like a real monument with historical furnishings. It was obviously too much museum for us. We would have preferred an elegant mix. Some things looked just old and inhabited. Also, everything is very bright and has the smell of old. During our stay, we were the youngest guests. I cannot tolerate that our bathroom was not cleaned and the somewhat red environment in the house.

The check-in was great, the breakfast was really, really good, and unfortunately the rooms were very bright, and the bed was very cramped, and I had some back pain, but that's just my personal opinion.

It's a great breakfast, but not a good quality of sleep for me, personal feeling.

We had an upscale room with antique furnishings. The room was beautiful as well as the breakfast room. However, the sky bed was exceptionally uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on a board and the lattices grinding as we turned around. We slept poorly. The bathroom was relatively new and clean, but sterile. It didn't fit the style of the house. The breakfast was exceptionally good, especially thanks to the very large selection and freshly prepared eggplants.

Let's start with the positive points: Potsdam Pension is well located about a 15-minute walk from Park Sans Souci. Lunch is very good and served in a beautiful late 19th century room. But there are many negative points. We arrived there one Sunday night around 6:00 p.m. to find no one. By interphone we were given the code to open a small safe outside the building in which we needed the key to the house, we were told how to find our room and guarantee what time lunch was served. There was no welcome note or any indication where to find a suitable restaurant. We found a vintage room with a bathroom that was completely Teconque e.a. The second one we got back the next Sunday evening without asking where to go. As late as late as late as May, we had a Michelin lunch, we didn't arrive at the door, but we did find a new parking lot, and it was very easy to get out of the parking lot.

Never seen before... (in the negative sense)

A boarding house without visible sign, you feel like you're going to the inhabitant's house: a little decentralized but cheap. The house is typical and much of the interior layout is also typical, including the breakfast room. On the other hand, the reception is even more impersonal than in a hotel, we haven't really been able to talk to our guests until the time of the settlement... Lunch: buffet with lots of choice, copious but nothing hot unlike traditional German breakfasts (no scrambled eggs, no bacon or sausages).
